Why Do Children Argue?

Why do children argue with their parents about the smallest of things? Do they not understand that they will loose the argument every time? It is like there is a learning disability or something. "Did you brush your teeth?" Did you wash your face?" Why do I still keep asking? There has to be a time when I let go and force the responsibility on them, right? I know why I keep asking if they did the basic hygiene things....because it is a direct reflection on ME. I don't want them walking around smelly and sticky! I don't and neither should they. Why can't they just do it!

And the whole "clean up your room" thing. Because I am a neat freak and like things put away, it drives me nuts! Everything has a place and for those who have been in my house, you know, everything has a place! I may need medication soon.

Today I told my family, "I quit. I'm done making sure that you've brushed teeth, washed face, etc. I quit." It consumes my day and I don't have any time for me to do the things that I want to do. Anyone else want to quit with me?!

I think this is why they are so cute and cuddly when they are born...so that we love them so much and have so much fun with them that when they are pains in the butts we remember that love and it saves them.
