Personal Trainer and Me

A few posts ago I mentioned signing away myself to a personal trainer. It really seems like a lot longer than it has been, okay. We haven't done anything twice, which is good, so I am not bored, but at the same time, I am very afraid every time I go to meet her!

The first day we were inside and she set up a series of fast and slow training exercises. All very simple, but very challenging! I don't really remember the first meeting with the trainer, but I do know that if I would have been with her any longer I would have thrown up and peed on myself!

I've learned that I really don't like running, even though I want to like it. So, we will see what happens. Either next week or the next, we will do the whole remeasuring thing and see if there has been any progress...........................there better have! Although I think that I will NOT look at the number on the scale, because muscle weighs more than fat and I REALLY do not want to get discouraged. The trainer did say that "the number" may either go up or stay the same, so don't get fixed on "a number". BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! So, I will keep my eyes closed!

Wish me luck!

I Still Got It!

I preface this blog with I love my husband very much and would never do anything to jeopardize that relationship! Love you hunny!

Okay, so I've been working out and I feel good. Exercise does help with stress and overall well-being. I'm still working on shedding some pounds, but it didn't jump on my back side overnight, so it won't jump off overnight, right?!

So, one day last week, I had been to the gym that morning, worked out, felt good. Came home and got cleaned up and headed out to run a couple of errands. One was the commissary. So, when you work out, you feel better, you might walk a little taller, a little more confidence maybe. I'm at the commissary, pushing my buggy and I round a corner and on the next aisle there was a gentleman and his two kids, they were rounding their corner at the same time I was rounding mine. Well, what can I say, he did triple take. Yes, he did. Now, I am hardly a woman of over confidence, I am no super model, but nor a hound either. Well, it was a boost to the ole ego! I might have walked even taller through the rest of my commissary trip!

Thank you Mr. Unidentified Overwhelmed Man! You made my day!

My Project

Alrighty, I have been passing by this table for months! I had the paint picked out all I needed to do was sand, prime and paint! I don't know why it has taken so long, probably just OBE! (That is Overcome By Events.) So, we've had this table since shortly after we were married. We liked it then, but our tastes have matured! Don't really like the style so much, but it is in good shape and functional and really it isn't in a used part of the house. It is located in the bedroom hallway for a lamp and stuff.

Here is the before........................

Primer.........................Those legs were a real pain to paint around!

AND............the finished project! It now has two nice coats of polyurathene and is sitting lovely in my hallway! One project down and a couple more to go!

My Block

Okay, so one of the first things that I did when we arrived was go to the big membership drive for the spouses club. I went solo. I'm a big girl, I can do it. And because the Army gets smaller and smaller the longer you are in, you always run into people you've known at previous Army bases.

Well, one of the tables was the spouse quilt group. Since the fabulous owner of Reannalily Designs, (http://www.reannalilydesigns.com), taught me how to quilt, I thought, why not, I can join a quilt group! So I did and it was one of the best things that I have done. These ladies are awesome!

The most current project that we decided to do was a calendar quilt. I chose December, but decided against the tradition Christmas theme. I did a snowman. My block is below. And when you see my next post of the blocks that I received from these VERY talented ladies, mine is shameful!

Lost in Life

It has been so crazy since my last post, so I'm sorry! Things have been going fast forward and I still haven't mastered how to clone myself, so sometimes I feel like I am running around in circles, like a dog chasing it's tail!

So, my next few posts will be slightly dated, but well worth posting!

Easter

I know what you are thinking.........Easter??? When was Easter??? I know! I know! My life has been so crazy busy lately I really don't know what direction I should be going! When is summer vacation???? This year I am more ready than anything for summer vacation!

Well, here are the kids decorating some eggs. This was a big year. My oldest, Sarah, asked the "BIG" question. "Are you the Easter Bunny?"
"Quick, brain, think, think." Is what I was saying in my head as I turned away, because I just couldn't wipe the smile off of my face. I quickly thought of when I found out about Santa, the Easter Bunny, etc., I was about her age. So, she and I discussed it all.

She asked "why?" Wow, well, I told her, "Certain holidays are magically and exciting and parents enjoy making those extra special for their kids, so we pretend to be Santa and the Easter Bunny." She understood. I then went on to say, "Now, your brother still believes. If you ruin the magic and excitement for him, then the Easter Bunny and Santa won't come and see YOU!" She quickly understood language.

Kind of sad for mommy, because my babies are growing up. But the Easter Bunny and Santa will continue to show up and I hope that now that she knows, she will appreciate the magic even more and continue the traditions that we've created with her family.
