THE Quilt

So, a new Moda line came out that I fell in love with and just HAD to have it. While in Korea, where fabric was basically free, I didn't need a plan when I bought multiple yardages. It was $2/yard! No plan needed. Well, now that we are back in America, anyone who sews or quilts knows how much Moda fabric is. Enough said. My friend suggested that I pick out a pattern and come in with a plan, so I don't buy too much (if that is possible). I agreed. Found a pattern that I've been wanting to do. This particular pattern book had measurements for lap, twin, and queen. Choices!

Since my husband is tall, I decided to go with the queen size, so his tootsies would be covered up on the couch. This is a very easy pattern! It consists of 5" squares and 2 1/2" squares plus any border. Easy! Yeah..............it is easy, however, the queen size requires MANY squares! It requires 441 - 5" squares and 882 - 2 1/2" squares. I got them all cut out in 1 1/2 days, with a few interruptions, of course.

So, here is was 882 - 2 1/2" squares look like.

And here is 441 - 2 1/2" squares.
I love the color palette and I will give some sneak peaks of my progress. Yesterday I was able to assemble 124 blocks, and actually those blocks only took the afternoon, because I was on the phone a lot yesterday! The quilt requires 441 blocks to be finished!
More to follow....................
