Can it Really Be True?

Let us refresh our memory. Go back into the memory bank and pull out January 15, 2009. That is when we said good-bye to our daddy and hubby for a year long deployment to Iraq. These were our countdown jars. We decided that we, the kids and I, would have 1 piece of candy for each day that daddy was gone. WOW! I'm glad that I picked Jelly Bellies, they are small! but still a lot of those little suckers!

Fast forward to January 7, 2010! Now look at our countdown jars!!!! OMG!! I cannot believe that it is really here. Can it be? Am I dreaming? Did someone just eat all of the candy or do we really have only 3 DAYS LEFT???? We do only have 3 days left! Glenn will be home Sunday night!

Everyone is very happy and excited, but a little nervous too. The kids and I have been working as a team, most of the time, for 1 year, solo, alone, without Glenn. Now we have to reintegrate and readjust to having him home again. I know that sounds strange, because he is my husband and the kid's dad, but he was gone for 1 year! There will be an adjustment period, but I know it will all be all right!

My heart is full of gratitude for the sacrifices all the women, men and families of our armed forces make to keep us all safer. Have a wonderful home coming!

Thank you mascanlon! We all some wear and tear, a couple of grey hairs, probably some more wrinkles, but we made it!
