Okay, so we bought our first house. It is awesome, except for the first full month's electric bill! We moved in and camped out. Picked out some paint and began to set up house. A week later, we recgeived our two storage shipments and our small shipment from Korea. YES, in one day! But that was okay.
Unpacking the storage boxes was like Christmas! And, there was a lot of, "is this ours?" So, needless to say, we have a HUGE pile of stuff for a massive garage sale. I hurried up and tried to get everything in a place, because I knew that our last household goods shipment from Korea would be delivered around September 1st. The last week of August was painful, because I was very anxious.
The first week of September comes. We call the transportation office and they give us Bekins number and the point of contact. That person tells us that our shipment is delayed. WHAT? Delayed? Do they not know that I've been living out of a suitcase since June? I want to burn all of the clothes I've worn all summer. DELAYED? The Major handles these obsticles much better than I do. I would be standing on someone's desk, demanding that my household goods be found and delivered immediately!
So, after talking to Bekins, we find out that the delay is with customs. Customs is short handed and they want to inspect EVERYTHING on ALL of the ships coming from KOREA.
So, here we are. September 18.....and still no stuff. I need some medication FAST! The Major goes to transportation yesterday, calm just inquiring about our shipment. They tell us that it will be in our area on the 18th and they will call when it arrives. COOL! Right? WRONG!
I get another call from transportation and they tell me that our household good shipment is actually here! WOW! "Fantastic!", I say. Then the transportation rep says that they would like to deliver the shipment on the 23rd................."what? The 23rd? That is a whole 'nother week. This shipment is already late." I will say that the rep from transportation was very nice and I know that he felt very bad for us. He did say that they would try to get it to us sooner.
So, if I don't get my stuff sooner, then at least it will be next Tuesday. One more weekend to find something to do. I think that I will go get some more paint!!!!!!
