The Dinner

This is Sammy, no he wasn't the dinner! He is part Rotweiller and part Australian Sheppard. He is one of my mom's dogs who came to visit for the weekend. This was his first visit.......anywhere! He is very attached to my mom, some seperation anxiety. Sammy was going to stay with us, but he didn't play very nice with my kitty Patches. He has been around cats before, my mom had two, so they are not uncommon to him, but he tried to bite Patches twice. Soooooo, maybe when my parents come back to visit, Sammy can come too. Ryan, my son, was crushed, because he loves Sammy and really wanted him to stay so he could teach him to jump on his bed. You know, a boy and his dog. This would have been his dog. We will keep trying with Sammy. We pulled out some Dog Whisperer tricks this weekend too! He is a great dog, with the exception that he wanted to eat Patches!

Here is Sarah, Sammy, my mom and Ryan.

Grandma giving some love!

Now......on to the dinner! The table was set..................

The rolls patiently standing by to go into the oven......

The oven was full! In my "dream" home, I will have a double oven!

The traditional Green Bean Casserole............a favorite with the husband!

My very special Sweet Potato Casserole...........yummmmmmm. Toasted to perfection!

And where is the star of the night you ask? Mr. Butterball himself!

Oh yeah! Perfect!

Here is me and my hunny. Full and tired.

I hope that everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving. There is much to be thankful for; just look around you. Most of those things are right in front of you, some are many miles away. But even though miles seperate, those friends hold a special piece of my heart. Please keep our soldiers in your thoughts and be thankful for the devotion and sacrifies that they give to you and our country. Be thankful for them, their families and the many soldiers who wait their turn to make the sacrifice.

I'm still full!
