Uncle Dean's Visit

We had our first visitor since we've been back from Korea. Uncle Dean, Glenn's brother from Florida came to see us. We haven't seen him since the spring of 2006, just before we left for Korea. It was really great to see him and we had a great time.

He is a great uncle and the kids love him! Even Daisy, our dog loves him. He wasn't able to stay very long, so we made the most of every minute. He arrived around lunch time on a Friday. The kids were still in school, so we went to lunch then got him settled at the house before picking up the kids from school.

Saturday morning we did the whole tourist thing of Ft. Hood, the Army's largest military installation. There is a lot to see. We drove from end to the other looking at all of the military vehicles and stuff then went to the 1st Cavalry Museum.

This is Glenn, Dean and the kids in front of Glenn's office.

This is the kids in front of a really big armored vehicle....(I don't know the technical Army name for it!)

The 1st Calvary Museum has and inside and outside museum. The weather was perfect for Dean's visit. The very strange helicopter can lift things twice it's own weight! Very cool! The Army has cool toys!

And what visit would be complete without a ride on the new motorcycle?!

Then Dean tried on Glenn's armored vest and helmut. He was surprised at how heavy it was.

We spent a little time at the house resting and getting ready for the next plan of action! Our plan was to go to the Putt Putt place and then to dinner. Here is Glenn and Dean with a nice Texas sunset in the background.

The kids LOVE this place. It is alittle pricey, so we don't go very often. They prefer the other games than the actual putt putt! This was one of the rides that they went on. The boats spray water and you go arund bumping into each other and spraying each other with water!

This, of course, is their favorite of them all! The go carts. Sarah is a very conservative driver, approaching the curves with caution, driving with two hands, etc. Makes a mommy proud......

Ryan...........is the complete opposite. Driving as fast as the cart will go, speeding up at the curves, fishtailing, driving with his hair on fire! Oh, help me please!

Uncle Dean got in the action too!

Uncle Dean and the kids.

Here is me and my honey. All in all, a great weekend! Just went by too fast.
